Recognitions Proof of Energy Industry’s Commitment to Michigan
Michigan’s energy providers continually distinguish themselves in ways that capture the attention of national and international industry observers. While there will always be challenges and setbacks, AMP members should be proud of the stellar record our hometown electric companies have maintained over the years.
Here’s a look at just some of the recent awards our energy providers have earned:
- DTE Energy won its second consecutive Gallup Great Workplace Award earlier this year, which honors companies for applying best practices in the workplace and their improved business results achieved through building an engaged workforce
- The Lansing Board of Water & Light was one of two recipients nationwide to receive the Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments (DEED) Energy Innovator Award from the American Public Power Association (APPA). The award “recognizes utility programs that have demonstrated advances in the development or application of creative, energy-efficient techniques or technologies to provide better service to electric customers, or projects that increase the efficiency of utility operations or resource efficiency.”
- CMS Energy, the parent company of Michigan’s Consumers Energy, has earned the “Ethics Inside® Certification” from the Ethisphere Institute. This certification is awarded to companies that “can demonstrably prove a superior employee and leadership culture that promote ethical business practices.”
One thing noteworthy about even this small sample of achievements by our state’s energy providers is that they reflect all of AMP’s main values:
Moreover, all of these efforts by our local energy providers are helping to ensure a brighter future for everyone in Michigan.
