The Alliance for Michigan Power believes that every Michigander deserves access to affordable, reliable, and increasingly clean energy – and supporting smart energy policies can help make this vision a reality. Michigan’s Integrated Resource Plan – or IRP for short – process ensures that local energy providers are aligned with the interests of their customers, stakeholders, communities, and governing bodies to secure a better energy future for all.

DTE Energy’s IRP is currently under review by the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). While AMP neither supports nor opposes DTE’s IRP, we believe the plan includes aspects which represent smart policies that will meet Michigan's energy goals today and into the future.

As our videos explain, DTE’s proposed IRP includes plans to:

Develop more than 15,000 megawatts of renewable energy—capable of powering approximately 4 million homes.
Increase natural gas generation to replace coal power and continue providing a 24/7 energy source that complements renewable energy.
Invest $9 billion over the next decade in Michigan's economy—which will support more than 25,000 jobs.
Reduce carbon emissions 85% by 2035 and 90% by 2040.
